Silver Award for LaserFusion & Gold Award for QC Alloy
The prestigious awards ceremony for the best innovations of Gorenjska in 2023 took place on 1.6.2023, where we proudly received two prestigious awards in the field of metal and polymer joining (a) and innovative aluminum alloy (b).

Iskra ISD Group, in collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, received the silver award for the LaserFusion technology. LaserFusion achieves a permanent bond by laser micro-structuring the metal surface, creating locking points where an injected polymer locks during the injection molding process:
- The bond between the metal and the polymer is waterproof and exhibits comparable mechanical properties to adhesive bonding.
- The technology is environmentally friendly, aligning with the principles of circular economy.
- It is not limited to specific combinations of polymers and metals.
- Patent protection has been filed for LaserFusion.
In collaboration with the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, we received the gold award for our innovative aluminum alloy QC Alloy, which brings breakthrough solutions and promises:
- An innovative alloy with the density of aluminum but mechanical properties similar to soft steels.
- The quasicrystalline structure (QC) improves the mechanical properties of the alloy, making it stronger and more resistant to deformation. Its increased strength and hardness make it ideal for applications requiring high durability and resistance to wear.
- This innovation has been recognized at the regional level as a top achievement and will now compete at the national level.
